Update 3rd July 2025 – We now have guidance from South West London for our eligible patients and have contacted them. If you have not been contacted, then sorry you are not eligible for this on the NHS at present.

South West London ICB have provided us with the following letter for patients who are not eligible for the service which is below.

Letter for non eligible patients

Please do not contact us regarding weight loss injections as we currently cannot prescribe these. Once we are able to prescribe weight loss injections they will be offered to those with the highest medical need only which may mean that a lot of patients will be disappointed. We will keep this page updated with any updates we have.

What We Offer Right Now

The NHS has announced that a new weight-loss injection called Mounjaro (tirzepatide) will soon be available to help people with obesity, there are also other weight loss injections, such as Wegovy (semaglutide) and Saxenda (liraglutide). This news has created a lot of interest, and we’ve been getting many questions about it.

At Fairhill Medical Practice, we know how important weight management is for your health. While Mounjaro is not yet available through our surgery, we can support you with:

NHS Health Checks: These include weight management advice and checks for other health conditions.

Diet and Exercise Advice: Our dietician Alice and our lifestyle coach Stephanie can help. You DO NOT need to see a GP to book an appointment with these clinicians. Please give us a call and the team can book you an appointment.

What is Mounjaro?

Mounjaro is a new injection designed to help with weight loss. It works by making you feel full, so you eat less. In trials, people using Mounjaro lost up to 20% of their body weight.

When Will It Be Available?

The NHS has a long-term plan to make Mounjaro widely available. However, this will take time – possibly up to 12 years – to ensure services can manage the demand. The injection will be offered to those with the highest medical need, via weight management services.
